Cigliano di Sopra is one of the most exciting new wineries in Tuscany. A historic estate that traces its history to the 1300’s, it is located in the most northern part of Chianti Classico in the UGA of  San Casciano in Val di Pesa, very close to Florence.

Its 32 hectares include 7 of vineyards, 17 of olive trees, historic buildings (including two agriturismo farmhouses) a beautiful Italian garden and citrus trees. Maddalena Fucile and Matteo both graduated in viticulture and oenology from the University of Florence and worked with Fontodi (Matteo) and Isole e Olena (Maddalena) before venturing the USA to work with Rajat Parr and Sashi Moorman at Domaine de la Cote and Evening Land.  In 2016 they returned to Cigliano and set about restoring the vineyards and converting to organic farming.
